La Catarata [Jaén, Cajamarca]

Overview

Ángel Antonio Manosalva Palomino farms La Catarata (and La Pomarrosa) in La Cascarilla above Jaén — a different province from Cusco, in Peru’s northern competition belt. In 2025 his washed Geisha took first at Taza de Excelencia Perú with 90.64 points. This expedition is the farm journey in order: the Catarata La Momia sign, Ángel in the plot, cherry on the tree, Brix for sweetness, pH at the mill, pulping and fermentation, then parchment drying and Ángel standing with the finished bags. Fly Lima–Jaén (or overnight bus); this is not a same-day return from Cusco.
